The production of Mora clocks began in the mid - late 18th century by farming families in the Dalarna province in Sweden, especially around the city of Mora. Each family would specialize in making different parts of the clocks to supplement their income. Some made movements, some the faces, some the cases, some the paintings and some assembled the clocks.
Here we have a very interesting collection of Mora clocks from the early half of the 19th century. Some restored, some unrestored - see details below.
